Olalekan is the Managing Director/CEO at emPLE General Insurance Limited since July 1, 2024. He has over 27 years of experience in the insurance industry, focusing on growth, innovation, and client success. His career began at Sovereign Trust Insurance plc, where he rose to become the Reinsurance Manager. He then joined AXA Mansard Insurance Plc in 2004, restructuring technical operations and eventually becoming the Chief Underwriting Officer. In 2018, he became the Executive Director of Operations at Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc. By 2019, he was the Managing Director at Old Mutual General Insurance Company Nigeria Limited, aiming to refocus their operations in West Africa.
Olalekan is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and the Council of Registered Insurance Brokers of Nigeria, as well as a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London. He has attended numerous technical and development courses globally and is a prolific lecturer in risk management, specializing in reinsurance and alternative risk transfer mechanisms.
