Odekunle is an award-winning Risk, Strategy, Compliance, Growth and Impact professional with almost two decades experience spanning Investment Banking, Commercial Banking and Insurance in the Financial Services sector. Over the course of his career, he has held roles in risk management, operations, research, and project management.
He started his career within in the Operations Team of Intercontinental Bank (acquired by Access Bank), joined the Strand Capital Partners as a Research Analyst before joining the inaugural Operational Risk Management Team of Guaranty Trust Bank where he developed his skills in risk control and assurance; and supporting the Bank’s Enterprise-wide Risk Management development and embedding efforts. He subsequently joined Old Mutual Nigeria as the Risk Officer of the company’s Life business and then rose to the position of Chief Risk Officer of the Nigerian businesses of the South African multinational. He eventually oversaw the Project Management Office in addition to his role as Chief Risk Officer of emPLE.
